About UsBob and Pat Daniels started the Cottage Grove Farmhouse Bakery in 1998. Bob, confessing he had been beaten down and disillusioned by the corporate world, started thinking about starting a business. Pat, who has always been handy in the kitchen, was already getting requests from friends and family for her homemade breads. These were the very first kernels of thought to starting a bread bakery.
Then Bob read a study on old-fashioned milling techniques and its amazing health benefits compared to contemporary breads on the market made with regular flour from the food conglomerate. Bob says he became so exuberant when he learned about the dramatic increase of vitamins, minerals and fiber from fresh-milled wheat that he had to get a stone mill. That was the start of the bread bakery.
